Mazra'a

Palestinian Restaurant

During 2020 I was the manager at a Palestinian street food place and got to learn a completely new way of cooking.

In 2022 the team open their third restaurant, Mazra’a, and I got the privilege to create their new logo & website.

I first produced a handwritten logo with the justification that this would represent the style of the restaurant with home-cooked food in a simple environment.

Individual project, freelance.

Palestinian Restaurant

The owners then changed the concept to fine dining and the desire to have a more dominant and stylish logo. The logo was to be stamped out in sheet metal and the interior design style was to be South African shanty town, sheds and rusty sheet metal.

The logo also consists of a Palestinian sunbird that I drew in Procreate and processed in Illustrator. The bird is a symbol of Palestine; a symbol of Palestinian hope (freedom), migrating in direct defiance of borders and restrictions from the beaches of Gaza to the plains, forests, mountains, and villages of Palestine's central and northern lands finally to the coastal mountains and valleys of her sister Lebanon.
